Alpha Xi Delta Closes at Oklahoma State University

Published: September 24, 2024

Indianapolis, IN – Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity’s National Council voted to withdraw the charter of its Epsilon Omicron Chapter at Oklahoma State University, effective at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year

“The decision to close our chapter at Oklahoma State University was not made lightly, as every chapter truly is a sacred bond in our Sisterhood,” said Megan Crouch, Alpha Xi Delta National President. “It became clear to us, after years of support and attention, that this chapter was not sustainable. Despite the efforts of our chapter members and the dedication of numerous volunteers, our chapter membership has continued to decline, making it difficult to provide the full and enriching Alpha Xi Delta experience.”

The Epsilon Omicron Chapter will continue to hold events and proceed with chapter operations through the end of the spring term, except for any recruitment activities.

“We are confident that their shared experiences will provide them with stories and friendships to cherish for a lifetime. We sincerely hope our Sisters, who have shown remarkable dedication to Alpha Xi Delta, will remain actively engaged as alumnae members,” said Crouch.

The Epsilon Omicron Chapter will always be an important part of Alpha Xi Delta’s and Oklahoma State’s Panhellenic history. The chapter was originally established at Oklahoma State University in 1968, with the most recent re-establishment happening in 2014. Several members of the Epsilon Omicron Chapter have served the Fraternity in many capacities, including on Fraternity Headquarters staff and Fraternity volunteer roles. This is a legacy that will endure long after Alpha Xi Delta’s chapter at Oklahoma State University is closed.

Founded in 1893 at Lombard College, now Knox College, in Galesburg, Illinois, Alpha Xi Delta inspires women to realize their potential by providing opportunities for Sisterhood, leadership, knowledge and service. The national women’s Fraternity has more than 160,000 initiated members and chapters on 125 college campuses.
