Jean's Story
When I was initiated in Sigma Chapter in 1968, I learned from my Sisters that Alpha Xi Delta is for life, and that wherever I traveled or settled in the country I would be able to find Alpha Xi Deltas. From then on I knew I was going to continue to be involved with our Fraternity. I moved from Iowa to Boston, Massachusetts after graduation and immediately joined the Greater Boston Alumnae Association and have been a member ever since! I was fortunate to serve as the Association’s convention delegate in Chicago 1974. It was there that I met Jane Fursey Ralston, a member of Gamma Chapter who was moving to the Boston area. Our friendship blossomed. We have both served in various volunteer positions for our Fraternity regionally and nationally. She has moved away from the Boston area; however, we continue to support Alpha Xi Delta and keep in touch often through social media, at National Conventions and other visits. Jane is only one of MANY Sisters I have met attending National Conventions and volunteering for Alpha Xi Delta. I share this special story on the 125th Anniversary of our Fraternity so that you too will know that Alpha Xi Delta is for life!
