Working Out On Youtube
Finding a workout routine that works for you is a challenge on its own. Whether you are stuck in the house looking for exercises to do because of COVID-19 or are just not a fan of going to the gym—a home workout is still a great option! Popular to contrary belief, you don’t need to splurge on actual workout equipment to get in shape. With the current limitation of supplies, people are finding everyday household items to add some weight and resistance to their workouts.
To successfully complete your workout, make sure you have some room, a mat, and some music to set the mood (perhaps use this time to catch up on your favorite Netflix or Hulu show).
Not everyone needs the same thing. Below are four of my go-to YouTube channels that you can access for free:
Whitney Simmons
Whitney Simmons provides a wide range of weightless and weighted exercises on Youtube and Instagram. No matter what part of your body you want to focus on, she has an easy workout for you to follow. She even provides modifications for exercises if you’re not physically able to complete a workout.
Lululemon
You can find yoga classes, meditation, and full-body workouts on the lululemon Youtube! The variety of exercises that are provided as super easy to follow and fit for different times of the day. Maybe a full-body work out in the morning and a beautiful stretch during lunch or after work.
Shelley Darlington
If you’re a fan of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Shelley Darlington will get your heart rate pumping in no time! Shelley does use weights in her video, but she also uses household items.
Jessica Valant Pilates
Jessica Valant is a certified physical therapist and Pilates instructor. When she’s not giving you killer workouts, she’s helping you keep your body pain free! New videos are released every other Wednesday, so her content is always fresh!
Natasha (Iota Epsilon, University of Nevada, Las Vegas) joined the Clear Vision of Life team in 2018, writing for social wellness. Natasha works as a marketing manager and contributes to her passion through freelance work on the side. In her spare time, Natasha enjoys outdoor activities, trying new foods, traveling, and dancing with her husband, David, and her fur-baby, Ruby.
